Latam Peace Summit 2016

Latam Peace Summit 2016 (Latam Cumbre por la Paz 2016) was a peace gathering where like-minded change-makers and peace activists had the opportunity to talk about their peace building projects, to unify and come up with new ideas on the promotion of Culture of Peace throughout North America, Latin America and Caribbean region.

Over 50 participants came together to not only share experience and be inspired by each other’s works but also to develop themselves and their inner qualities through a variety of workshops, inspiring talks, mindfulness trainings held by renowned meditation and yoga instructors from the region. Apart from these aforementioned activities, the forum also features other interesting programs including concerts, Living Mandala workshop and the private sessions called Meditation Clinic where participants had a chance to consult with the meditation trainer on their mindfulness practice.

The topics including both theoretical and practical approach were: Conflict transformation and non-violence communication Art and meditation: how can both be integrated to boost creativity? Mind-Body relationship Leadership skills through calming our mind Thai-Buddhist studies on peace Mindfulness and yoga practice

Anayanci is an organizational psychologist, coach and trainer, with nine years of experience as a professional and seven years as a coach. She loves her job and seeks to inspire her coaches, students and clients with her energy and dynamism.She has worked as a university professor in areas such as leadership, organizational behavior, human management and managerial skills. She has lectured on nonviolence, communication, how to change bad habits, and other soft skills.She has been part of the Peace Revolution community since 2012, attending six meditation retreats as a participant or mentor, since she thinks that one should always be in search of inner peace. She believes human beings can achieve everything they set out to do, so she seeks to help other people to transform their lives. She believes that 'Everything is possible, dare to fulfill your dreams!'.

Marco was born in Bogota, Colombia. He studied Business Administration and has an MA in Development Studies. He joined the project in 2011 when he came across with the online self-development program and attended the Global Peace on the Move 5. Since then he has been practicing meditation and has been committed to share it with others. He is convinced than real social change can only be achieved by transforming the mind and that meditation is the most powerful tool to do it.

PHRA PASURA DANTAMANO

Phra Pasura Dantamano, who once was hotel manager, flight attendant and a DJ, has chosen the life of Theravada monk since 2006. Before becoming a monk, he studied humanities at Ramkhamhaeng University. He has traveled extensively both as a monk and a layperson. He organized several dozens of ceremonies and events in many countries such as Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal and etc. whereas up to 20,000 people attending. He serves as chief of international relations division of Wat Phra Dhammakaya Temple and Vice President of World Buddhist Sangha Youth (WBSY). He represented his organization and spoke in many Buddhist and non-Buddhist conferences held in many countries. He also conducting more than 1,000 meditation workshops, courses and retreats in more than 50 countries to people with diverse backgrounds of beliefs. He has shared his insights on mindfulness, meditation and Buddhist Philosophy for living full, enriched and balance life of happiness in modern era to individuals, NGOs, governmental agencies, universities, and companies (such as Columbia University, Northeastern University, TEC Milenio, Wilbur Wright College, PUC in Minas Gerai, São Paulo, Santiago, University of Illinois, University of Mendoza, Santa Casa Medical School, DHL and etc.)

Ana Laura Lloveras

Ana was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She studied International Trade and worked in an international pharmaceutical company. However, she felt that something was missing from her life. She started her journey and traveled around in order to search for the 'missing puzzle piece'. By learning how to meditate, She has finally founded that the missing piece lies inside herself. She became Hatha yoga Teacher in 2012 and learnt Iyengar yoga with Usha Devi (Rishikesh India) for two years. She became meditation trainer in Thailand in 2014 and keeps training herself there every year. She has taught Yoga and Meditation in Ecuador, Dominica, Guyana, St. Lucia, Thailand, Spain and Argentina.
