I completely agree about the powerful relaxation and tranquility that meditations allows you to feel. You are able to calm the mind and invigorate the spirit, that we too often allow ourselves to lose track of during the daily external situations that occur around us. It is great to hear that you find comfort and peace after a seemingly stressful day. However, why wait until the end of the day, when the stress and anxiety of work has already taken its toll? Have you ever tried to incorporate your practice into other realms of your daily life, maybe when at work when you feel the anxiety and stress begin to set in, you can take a few deep, calming, clearing breaths, and give yourself a few brief moments of mindful meditation. (In whatever way you find you connect with.) Your practice doesnt have to end when you leave your sitting positin, you can try to allow yourself to reconnect to that feeling of tranquility. This is merely my own personal suggestion, that I too work towards, but I find it worthy of a learning experience.
