Africa Peace Summit

17-19 October 2017, Nairobi, Kenya

Without any doubt peace is wanted in Africa as in the rest of the world. Recent studies in Africa have shown that peace building strategies focus on conflict management rather than delving the root causes. The peace question may be seen in two ways namely: resolving conflicts, as well as creating conditions for sustainable peace.

Recent United Nations (UN) statistics from 35 African countries indicate that the largest category of conflict perpetrators and victims are the young people. On the other hand, statistics show that youth contribute to 65 percent of the entire African population. This in itself is an indicator that youths are a pinnacle of rekindling a sustainable culture of peace in Africa.

It is in the light of this that the World Peace Initiative Foundation (WPI) in partnership with Kenyatta University Mentoring Program is organizing the first Africa Peace Summit whose theme is “Nurturing a culture of peace within the youth.” The Aim of the summit is to provide a forum for youth in Africa to engage on identifying strategies for conflict resolution and peace-building.

Thus, the forum will help the youth in Africa to connect, learn, and discover practical tips in order to become mindful and efficient at personal and professional levels, and enhance individual potential, talents and capabilities from varied dimensions, co-creating a culture of peace in Africa.

European Peace Summit

4-7 April 2016 - European Youth Center, Budapest, Hungary

The 1st European Peace Summit is organized in the frames of World Peace Initiative Foundation, an international NGO established in Thailand in 2010 and committed towards the goal of creating peace by empowering the self-development of individuals globally, based on a firm belief that world peace can be achieved if each and every one of us works on their inner peace first, and then shares it with family, friends and community at large.

This summit aims to provide a unique opportunity for youth organizations from Europe to connect with each other, to learn how to be mindful and conscious at professional and personal levels, to discover their inner potential, talents and capabilities from a different perspective, and to progress and act together for a better and more peaceful future.
