What we forget

Human beings are not only made of body. We are made of body and mind. These two components are the essence of our life and also determine how successful or not we are. In order to be the change we need in the world, all of us need to find the right balance between the body and the mind. When we succeed in getting this balance, our life becomes happier and we can then achieve successfully our goals in life.

Our today world

Today's world is only the result of our common ways of thinking, speaking, acting with one another and towards nature. Everyone has thousands of thoughts per day and this results in the daily transformation of our world. Because of that, we can create happiness or sadness depending on the quality of our mind. We are aware that today's world is crucial and fearful. There are many uncomfortable changes and we feel somehow trapped in the circle of permanent challenges. This is the result of our thoughts and behaviors for many decades, because we always reap what we sow. Our present is conditioned by the past and the future. If we want to have a better time in the future, we have to start working right now to improve our present.

This is also a free online event, where you will know more about the World Peace Initiative Foundation (WPI), its vision and mission for sustainable world peace and how you can join its global network of like minded young people who are taking action to create peace and positive changes in Africa.

By applying to this online event, you accept to follow all the activities and submit a personal summary for what you have gained each day from Day 1 to Day 3. If you have a good record, World Peace Initiative Foundation (WPI) will consider giving you a certificate of participation.

Patou IBRAHIM (Cameroon)
She is a young Cameroonian diplomat working for years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in her country. Owner of two Masters Degrees in International Relations with main focus on International Communication and Diplomacy, she volunteers as a Peace Agent and trainer with the World Peace Initiative Foundation. After realizing that peaceful societies are made of people that found their inner peace, Patou decided to work with various youth associations in Cameroon to empower them on self-development and peacebuilding. Patou led many workshops in youth empowerment and participated in various mentorship programs. She also volunteers in many associations with a special interest in orphanages and street children.

Armand KODJO (Benin)
Since my first inner peace session, I never stop meditating and my life always keeps on improving. For this reason, I have dedicated my whole life to serve people and to help everyone discover the wonder of the mind that turns everything right when life is quite challenging. I found out that our body and mind need to be in harmony for our existence to be completed. With meditation, I have been able to change my condition through becoming a certified mindfulness trainer. I traveled to many countries and trained more than 3,000 people in personal development, meditation and mindfulness practice. I invite you to join us in this online training for more insights.

Alex OTOUBOU (Congo)
He is a 30-year-old young man with over 9 years of experience in social transformation, capacity building and the promotion of sustainable peace. He’s very creative and passionate about the development and implementation of innovative tools related to youth empowerment. For three years now, he’s committed as Country Coordinator and Peace Architect in restoring balance and harmony in his community by designing and operating peace building events and workshops. Through this position he led several workshops in 5 countries in Africa where more than 1500 people have been impacted on peace issues. He organized more than 7 peace workshops on a national level where more than 4000 people were impacted. He's committed to share his experience and knowledge with others in order to leave a footprint which can inspire others to act also as change and peace makers.

Brunel FONSANOU (Benin)
Seina Rock Brunel FONSANOU is a young social entrepreneur who spares no effort in contributing to the development of his community. For more than 3 years, he has touched the lives of many young Africans through various projects. He is a founding member of the West African Young Leaders Organization (WAYL-Org) focusing on youth development and employment. WAYL-Org promotes and strengthens youth’s capacities, as well as favors their integration through training, workshops and sustainable networks in West Africa. In 2016, Brunel joined Peace Revolution, a project of the World Peace Initiative Foundation, where he serves as a certified Mindfulness and Meditation Trainer, and helps in spreading the concept of world peace through inner peace in his community. He has volunteered in organizing many continent-wide summits and fellowships and believes that solidarity is a key towards building resilient communities. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in American studies from the University of Abomey Calavi, Republic of Benin.

Emmanuel Dushimimana (Rwanda)
He is a Rwandan young leader and peace builder, holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Technology graduated in Computer Science. He joined peace revolution and participated in Alafia Francophonie fellowship in Benin (2017), Amani Fellowship in Thailand (2018), and Peace Architect training in Thailand (2019 and 2020), where he obtained inner peace and self-love through meditation. After these fellowships he introduced meditation to many people and he initiated a peace club in his city. He believes that world peace is still possible once every one of us learns how to cultivate inner peace at an individual level and share it with others. He is interested in conflict resolution, youth leadership and technology. Thanks to the peace revolution he is more productive and creative because of mindfulness practices.

Training Description: This session will give participants specific tools of self-knowledge and self-awareness so that they start developing a better understanding of who they are through self-reflection and self-analysis. The trainer will have a short presentation about the topic and share the material (video) with participants.

Training Description: What is meditation and mindfulness practice? How could they help in life transformation and how to incorporate them in our everyday life. This training will give participants the required knowledge about meditation and mindfulness. The trainer will talk about meditation, relationship between the body and the mind and have a short Inner Peace Time with participants.

Training Description: What is the mind? Does the mind really have a power and how to use that power for life transformation? This session is a holistic explanation of what the mind is and how the mind (through inner wisdom) governs the outside world. It will be an occasion for participants to know more of the power of their mind and how to use it in their everyday life. The trainer will have a short presentation about the topic and share a material (video) with participants.

12:00 pm: Topic2: “Why should we meditate?”

Training Description: If you have ever known about meditation, this is the chance for you to know more and deepen your practice. But if this is the first time for you, you can also take this great opportunity to start training your mind and using your inner wisdom for life transformation. During this training you will know why we should meditate and also learn meditation techniques coupled with simple exercises that you can do from the comfort of your house. The trainer will talk about the benefit of meditation and how it contributes to a successful work and life balance, then have a short Inner Peace Time (10 minutes) with participants).

Training Description: Everyone in this world has a dream or some dreams. We have also been told about the importance of having big dreams, because they define the quality of our lives. But the crucial question is how to turn dreams into realities? This session will give you specific tools to turn your dreams into reality using step by step methods. The trainer will have a short presentation about the topic and share a material (video) with participants.

Training Description:How long has stress been affecting you? Do you want to have a stress free life? Stress is something that happens every day in our life and it really affects our physical and mental stability. During this session, the trainer will talk about stress, how we create stress and how meditation helps dealing with stress, then have a short Inner Peace Time (10 minutes) with participants).
