1. I like meditating by myself, should I apply for this training?

This training is a great opportunity to grow your practice, but it also needs the willingness to extend the many benefits of meditation to your community.

2. I have attended one WPI training in the past (regional or global) and I loved the experience. I would like to come back for another training to have the same experience and this seems to be a perfect opportunity to come back.

We are happy to know this. However, we would like you to understand that this is not just a retreat but a Training. The teachings and schedule are different and there will be more challenges to face than in a retreat program. Our aim is to train you to become the best professional of meditation at your level.

3. Does WPI provide sponsorship for attending the Training?

While WPI supports the cost of training for each participant which is around 1,000 USD (including accommodation, food, and local transport) along with investment in terms of time, energy, and effort of the teachers and staff, it does not provide any other form of sponsorship unless you are an active alumni of WPI programs, you may write to [email protected]

4. Does WPI provide sponsorship for the visa fee to attend the Training?

We don´t provide support for the visa application fee. An invitation letter can be requested to facilitate the visa process, upon being selected for the training.

5. What can I expect during the training?

You can expect a conducive environment to the learning process at the retreat site. All the course materials and workshops have been carefully designed to equip the participants with the basic knowledge and skills to conduct meditation sessions in their communities. The whole training would follow the daily schedule similar to a normal retreat, however, it would include more workshops and teachings on being a Trainer.

6. What are the prerequisites to be a Certified Mindfulness and Meditation Trainer?

As you may guess, love for meditation is a prerequisite. And we think that practicing meditation every day is a very easy must-do and we consider it a prerequisite as well. Further, while applying for the training, we would like you to commit to following the 5 acts of self-discipline as they are the actions that lead us to develop peace in what we do, we say and we think. . .

7. What do I need to know about the facilities during the Training?

The following practical information is useful for you:

  • Only simple food and drink are provided as per regular Thai standards and additional food options may not be available especially for those who are diabetic or less sugar lover. If you are sensitive to food - have allergies, gluten-free, lactose intolerant, or if you are vegan, please prepare your special diet in advance as we will serve standard Thai food only.
  • During the Training, participants will be served a full meal only for breakfast and lunch (no dinner). This will help prepare your body for effective meditation as well as helps with a good night’s sleep. However, refreshments (Pana) will be provided in the evening which will include yogurts, flavored milk, coffee, tea. It does not include smoothies, fruits, or nuts and we won’t be able to provide 100% natural juices every day. Tea and Coffee will be available as well. Pure water for Pana as the act of fasting is another option for those who would like to be healthier.
  • Common medicines for colds, coughs, and headaches may be provided, however, it is advisable that you carry your own medicines in case you really need them. Bring your own watch or alarm clock. Cell Phones will not be allowed even without a sim card and being on time in all sessions is important. You will need to deposit your phones to our staff at the retreat site on day one of the Training.
  • Everyone needs to bring their own laptops that have a USB slot as you may need to access material we may provide for the Training.
